Thanks to the high level of motivation of our students we had a first prize on the National English Drama Festival; in 1998 we became a member of the Oxford University Press School Helping program and we organized methodological trainings and “opened lessons” for English teachers; between 2010-2012 we took part in 2 Comenius projects. Working with a local language school our 8th grade students are well prepared for the English Language State Exam (which is obligatory in Hungary for entrancing universities). We organize English language summer camps for our students, Junior language competition for our 1- 4th grade students and a Big Bem Challenge online English language county competition.
The school has a vivid sport life, we have numerous sport results. Our students take part in students olympics, national, regional, county and city competitions with excellent results.
Support staff helps our work: Librarian, Mentoring Teachers for disadvantaged students, Child and Youth Preventors, Development Tutors, Teacher asssitants, Administators, Logopedist, Psychologist, Nurse, School doctor, School dentist, Teacher of clinical speech, Special education teacher etc. We have mentoring programs, Religious and Music Education, too. The first contact person is me (Mrs Szabó Mónika Mátyás), and the second key people is (Mrs Falcsik Beatrix Gaál) who will be involved in the whole project. Besides us, the headmaster (Mrs Balogh Éva Mester) and the whole English language department will be involved: Mrs Czene Ildikó Puskás, Mrs Vira Marianna Gaál, Mrs Éva Szűcs, Mrs Oláh Judit Kajor.
Although in the past the school took part in 2 Comenius projects, we do not know too much about them as the students left the school and the colleague who was responsible for the projects, retired. So we can say, the Erasmus+ projects are totally new for us, but we are interested in these new possibilities very much. As educators our most important aim is to raise happy children who are fully aware of the real human values, who are interested in the world around them. Joining the Erasmus+ projects could give us the possibility to reach our aims in a more motivatied way and we believe in learning from others is always a great fun!
