Schoolday without schoolbags (Greece, 20-1-2020)

The Teachers' Board of our school in collaboration with the Parents and Guardians Association organised a "Schoolday without schoolbags" day which was held on 20th January 2020 throughout the entire school schedule (from 8:15 to 13:15). During the event the students took part in educational activities without using any school books. The designing and the topics of the activities were exclusively related to our school's participation in the Erasmus+ European Program titled "Games in Europe- an endless story" and aimed at informing our students, as well as their parents, about the specific program. Our students came to school without bringing their schoolbags; they only carried a pencilcase and had sports clothes on.

There were five (5) working stations with at least twenty-four (24) students of different ages at each station. At the stations, which were a) Cyprus, b) Hungary, c) Portugal, d) ITC, e) Sports/dance, the students got acquainted with the culture of our partners through games(traditional, boars games, electronic etc.) and sports activities.
On Thursday 23rd January 2020 the evaluation of the "Schoolday without schoolbags" was completed. The results of the evaluation were very positive both by the students and the teachers of our school.
All of the students that took part in the activities answered an on-line questionaire. You can find some of their answers below.
Finally, the conclusion made by the teachers was that it was all worth the tiring preparation for this previously unfamiliar action (which we found intimidating and did not know how it would go). Despite the original anxiety and the tiredness at the end of the day, it was something we all truly enjoyed in the end.
